Last week I looked in the fridge and saw that we still had a small cup of whipped cream. What can you make from a small cup of whipped cream?
Well a small cup of 250 ml is just enough for 2 delicious panna cotta’s. I have therefore made a recipe for you for a delicious vanilla panna cotta that is wonderfully soft and creamy on the inside.
To serve, I made a strawberry sauce.
Panna cotta is a delicious little Italian puddle that is served as a dessert with cream cooked as the main ingredient. I love desserts myself and a panna cotta is definitely in my top 5 in terms of desserts.
There is also a lot to vary with this. You can make them with chocolate, coconut, lemon or orange and of course much more fruit or other ingredients.
Below you can see the recipe for my delicious soft vanilla panna cotta with strawberry sauce.
- 250 ml whipped cream
- 2 sheets of gelatin
- 25 grams of sugar
- 1 vanilla pod
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 150 gr of strawberries.
Put the gelatin leaves in a bowl of cold water and let it soak. Put the cream, sugar and the marrow of the vanilla pod in a pan and put it on the fire.
Don’t let the whipped cream boil. When the gelatin leaves are soaked, add them to the whipped cream and let them dissolve.
When the gelatin is dissolved in the whipped cream, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool. Stir it occasionally.
If it has already cooled down reasonably well but it is still very liquid, put it in the fridge for a while and leave it there. but stir it occasionally.
As soon as it gets thicker, put it in the molds where you want to pour it out, and put it in the fridge so that it can solidify. This can take up to 4 hours.
For the strawberry sauce, put 150 grams of strawberries and 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar in a bowl and mash it finely. When all strawberries are fine, the sauce is ready.
Pour the panna cotta on a plate and decorate it with the sauce and with strawberries and your delicious panna cotta is ready. Enjoy your homemade panna cotta !!!
